Finding Yourself Escaping Mediocrity

Finding Yourself Escaping Mediocrity

That should be your goal: to flourish. If your environment shapes who you are (and become), then where are you? Whether you like it or not, that's the conversation you will ultimately have with yourself, sooner or later.

If it is in a place that doesn't allow you to grow, you have to decide. Stay or leave( or face the consequences). Some say fight. Enact change. Good old stoicism.

But systemic change takes time you may not have, and not everything that can be fought is worth fighting. Time is finite, and so is your life. Pick your battles.

So the real test isn't "is this place bad?". It's rather "is the cost of staying greater than that of leaving?" When it is, leave. Not because you're certain the next place will be better.

But because you know this one is certainly not helping your cause. Or of those you so care about.

The leap is the courage. The value. The real thing worth doing. In the process of seeking who you are and who you are called to be, you develop habits and behaviours that prepare you for the next step.

That's part of the payoff.

There is a trap though. "this fight isn't worth it" and "I'm avoiding a hard thing" feel identical from the inside. That's where your compass has to be sharper than instinct alone. Gut will warn you. Listen , but not with your heart alone. With reality.

This is half a thought.
