Get Out of Your Own Way

Get Out of Your Own Way

Learn to get out of your own way. A lot of people block themselves by thinking too much, trying to be perfect, or believing they're the only one capable of doing X. In every case, they make it all about themselves. Don't do that.

Learn to stop thinking about yourself alone.

Learn to remove yourself from yourself. Ask, "If I were helping me, or helping that person, how would I do it?" Think about helping someone else, and then you'll know what you should be doing. Also think about helping others normally, not just as a trick to figure yourself out. But to be genuinely of service.

You get to discover more about yourself by interacting with others. Through self-reflection, or through what they tell you directly, or through what they communicate to you indirectly. Look for patterns.

Don’t sabotage yourself.
